• there are no jumpers and no DIP switches. The port is one electrical interface configured four ways, not four ports: a single bus is live at a time. Baud 300 bps to 921,600 bps with custom rates, 8 or 9 data bits, none/even/odd parity, 1 or 2 stop bits, non-blocking. RS-232 is three-wire TXD/RXD/GND with no hardware flow control.
• MODBUS RTU TO MODBUS TCP CONVERSION RUNS IN THE UNIT, ENABLED PER ENDPOINT - conversion is a switch on each TCP or UDP endpoint, not a global mode, so one endpoint can convert Modbus while another passes raw bytes on the same device. A Modbus TCP master on port 502 reaches RTU field devices with no driver and no polling script. A polling mode with its own poll timeout and poll delay lets the gateway drive the request cycle instead of the master, which keeps slow slaves from being overrun.
• MQTT CLIENT WITH SEPARATE SUBSCRIBE AND PUBLISH TOPICS - broker address and port 1-65535, client ID, user name and password, keepalive 0 to 65,535 s, and QoS 0, 1 or 2 set independently for subscribe and publish. The serial port is bound to the MQTT client on the Device Connection page, and the payload published is the serial byte stream: register decoding to JSON happens on the platform, not in the gateway. MQTT and the web interface run at the same time.
