• THE SCALE IS IN INCHES - Seam allowances read straight off the body in inches, so 5/8, 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 are where your pattern says they are and you are not converting anything in your head mid-seam. The scale runs along two edges of a 2.87 by 1.69 in body, which is small enough to sit beside the presser foot without crowding your hand and large enough to read without leaning in.
• IT SITS ON THE PLATE, NOT ON A SCREW - The base is magnetic, so it seats onto a steel needle plate and you slide it to the allowance you want. No screw, no bracket, no adapter for a particular model. Slide it, sew to it, lift it off. Because there is no hardware, moving from a 1/4 in patchwork seam to a 5/8 in garment seam takes about two seconds instead of a screwdriver, and nothing on your machine gets loosened or scratched in the process.
