- Carbon Brush Assembly：Each carbon brush assembly consists of a dark gray carbon brush block, compression spring, flexible copper lead and metal contact plate. Before ordering, compare the size and shape of the 614367-00 carbon brush block with your existing part to confirm compatibility.
- Function：During motor operation, the 614367-00 carbon brush contacts the commutator of the power tool motor to transfer electrical current to the rotating armature. The spring continuously applies pressure to the carbon block, helping maintain contact with the commutator as the brush gradually wears
- Application：The carbon block gradually becomes shorter through continuous contact with the commutator. Consider inspecting and replacing the carbon brushes when they are visibly worn, cracked or damaged, or when the motor has starting issues, intermittent operation or abnormal brush-to-commutator contact
- Replacement：The carbon brushes install inside the brush holders behind the brush caps on the motor housing. Disconnect power before replacement. Remove the brush caps and worn brushes, then insert new brushes into the holders with the carbon blocks facing the commutator. Position the springs and contact plates, then reinstall the caps. Inspect or replace brushes in pairs.
