• ROOM FOR A FULL WINGSPAN: Too small a board leaves wings hanging over the edge and ruins your display. This three-piece XPS spreading board fits specimen bodies up to 0.8 cm thick and supports a 20 cm maximum wingspan - large enough for full blue morpho butterflies. The adjustable groove fits insects from small beetles to large moths for versatile use. Hand-cut foam features minor rough edges
• these cosmetic imperfections do not affect pinning or drying performance.
• SYMMETRY, EVEN WITH NO EXPERIENCE: Eyeballing wing placement always results in lopsided, uneven spreads. Self-adhesive coordinate grid paper locks in symmetrical alignment, forcing left and right wings to mirror each other perfectly. Even total beginners can deliver flat, balanced, museum-level results on their very first try.
• GLASS, NOT THIN PLASTIC: Ordinary acrylic panels scratch easily and degrade over time. These shadow box frames adopt premium high-definition glass for ultra-clear visibility and superior scratch resistance. Sized like a sheet of printer paper for clean, neat display margins. Includes one black and one white frame - hang one for decor or gift one to fellow hobbyists.
• THREE-PIN MOUNTING, NO SHAKE, NO GLUE ON THE SPECIMEN: Single-pin mounting allows specimens to rotate, shift, and damage delicate wings. Professional three-pin fixation secures the thorax and both forewing margins for zero shake, zero friction, and permanently flat mounts. No glue touches the specimen, so you can lift it out and swap specimens anytime to rematch different frame backdrops, supporting repeated use and custom restyling.
• ENOUGH PINS TO FINISH THE JOB: This insect pinning kit comes with 280 insect pins in three functional types to meet all spreading and mounting needs. It also includes rust-resistant stainless steel straight and curved tweezers and sharp high-carbon steel scissors, delivering durable, precise tools for clean, damage-free specimen crafting.
• GOTHIC OR BOHEMIAN, YOUR CALL: Comes with two woven brocade backdrops, one Gothic and one Bohemian, plus double-sided printed backing boards. Easily match the backdrop tone to your collection - whether your specimens are dark or bright, large or small. Instantly turn simple pinning work into polished, display-worthy wall art.
• NO GUESSWORK ON THE FIRST TRY: Most beginner kits ship with zero guidance and lead to ruined specimens. This set includes a detailed step-by-step user manual (PDF available in Product guides and documents), covering complete pinning, spreading, and mounting procedures. Simply supply your own dried insects and double-sided tape
• all other tools and accessories are fully included.
