- Replacement Part:The adjustment screw is compatible with Irwin Vise-Grip 5-inch / 6-inch locking pliers 5WR, 6LN, 6R, 6SP, 6BN. Replaces part number 2071905. This adjusting screw installs at the end of the locking plier or locking clamp handle
- Jaw Opening & Clamping Pressure Adjustment:Turn the knurled screw head by hand to thread the adjusting screw in or out, adjusting the jaw opening and clamping pressure of the locking tool. This allows the tool to accommodate different workpiece sizes, set the initial jaw opening, and achieve proper locking
- Knurled Head with Hex Socket:Made of steel with a silver metallic finish. The round knurled head increases finger grip for manual adjustment, while the hex socket on top accepts a hex key for assisted adjustment. The externally threaded shank provides in-and-out adjustment, while the reduced smooth pilot tip transfers the adjusting force and helps prevent the threaded section from directly contacting the internal mechanism
- Maintain Locking Tools:When the adjusting screw has worn or stripped threads, becomes bent or damaged, the locking tool may become difficult to adjust, unable to properly set clamping pressure, or unable to maintain a consistent adjustment during repeated work. Replacing the adjusting screw helps restore jaw-opening and clamping-pressure adjustment without replacing the entire tool
- Replacement:Unlock the tool and release the jaws. Turn the old screw counterclockwise to remove it, then clean the handle threads. Align the new screw and turn it clockwise by hand. After installation, test jaw adjustment, locking, and release. Do not force the screw if resistance occurs to avoid cross-threading
