    • OIL-FILLED NYLON = LOWER FRICTION, LOWER HEAT. The blue-era nylon runs dry and builds heat at the tooth faces. This yellow compound is internally lubricated, so the gear teeth slide instead of grabbing. Less friction means less heat, and heat is what kills nylon couplers — it softens the teeth, they deform, then they chunk.
    • BUILT TO ABSORB SHOCK, NOT JUST RESIST IT. A diesel engine driving a reciprocating compressor is a constant stream of torque pulses. This material is tuned for higher elongation and balanced stiffness — it flexes with the pulse and springs back instead of cracking. Brittle gears snap. This one takes the hit.
