The armored construction is also particularly welcome on a 100-foot cable because long permanent and semi-permanent AV runs tend to get pulled, routed, stepped around, and generally subjected to considerably more abuse than the six-footer behind your television. In my world of projectors, displays, mixers, and event AV, having a long-run cable that can maintain a high-bandwidth digital connection without adding extenders or intermediate boxes is extremely useful.This is admittedly massive overkill for connecting two devices sitting on the same entertainment center, but that's not what a 100-foot AOC cable is for. This is installation cable: conference rooms, projectors, large venues, studios, home theaters, and other situations where the source and display have decided they no longer wish to live in the same zip code.
