• Three quinacridones PR202/PV19 + dioxazine PV23 — the complete red-to-violet arc — Quinacridone Magenta Crimson PR202, Quinacridone Violet PV19 and Quinacridone Red PV19 cover the warm red-to-cool violet range with transparent, highly staining pigments that produce the cleanest possible purples when mixed with blue. Dioxazine Violet PV23 anchors the deep blue-violet end — one of the strongest tinting and most transparent pigments available, with an almost black mass tone that dilutes to brilliant violet glazes. Together these four produce every purple, crimson and magenta without muddy mixing.
• Phthalo blue red shade PB15:2 — the mixing blue professionals choose for violets — While Phthalo Blue Green Shade PB15:3 biases toward cyan and green, Phthalo Blue Red Shade PB15:2 biases toward violet — making it the essential partner for the quinacridone pigments in this set. Mixed with Quinacridone Magenta Crimson PR202 it produces vivid clean purples impossible to achieve with a green-shade blue. Phthalo Turquoise PB15/PG7 bridges the cyan gap between blue and green. Together these two blues and Permanent Green Light PY74/PG7 give complete cool-spectrum coverage from cyan through deep blue to violet.
