    • I am thankful they were on sale for $17 at the time of purchase.Upon receiving these Marmot Mittens, I immediately noted the outer material is soft. The outer material is similar to our Original SnowStoppers long cuff mittens. I guess this makes sense because both only have an inner waterproof liner and no waterproof shell. I find that the Original SnowStoppers Mittens do not hold up to hours of play in wet snow. So, I became leery about these Marmot mittens. I wish I had read the description to know these did not have a waterproof shell. Would it have impacted my decision? I don't know. I was largely making my purchasing decision based on a 'tried and true' review...Here is our experience. My 10 year old daughter uses these Marmot gloves primarily to ski but has also used them on occasion to play outside. When she is done with her gloves, our process is to put wet gear next to or on our hot water radiators to dry items (we've done this with adult and kid gear for years with no problems). One morning, I randomly felt inside these gloves after they had been drying overnight only to discover they were STILL damp inside. First, all of our other gloves usually dry within a few hours. Second, for the price point and supposed waterproof technology, I was surprised they were even wet inside (it wasn't sweat).
