The zippers are quality without any concern they will break, despite being under a bit of pressure already after I loaded it with my pens/markers. I couldn't believe it when I found that after putting all my pens (think upwards of 70), markers (more than 40), and 12 colored pencils, this amazing product still had plenty of room for me to add to my collection! What I love the most, I think, is that it is so easy to insert and remove any type of writing utensil the case. I recommend this case wholeheartedly based on this fact alone. A lot of cases that are similar to this one are designed for one pencil per elastic band or a generic larger sized opening in the elastic band to give you more storage options. Unfortunately, those often do not fit markers or pens that have any form of grip on the bottom. They get stuck both on the way in and on the way out, if they fit at all. With this case, the elastic is tight enough to keep all the kids in check, but is not so tight that you have difficulty actually using the pens regularly. The design is fun and happy, but honestly, even if it was ugly, this would be my choice due to the amazing functionality. If you enjoy using different colors for different tasks or color-coding your journal/agenda/notes, this is far and away your best option fo
